As I walked through the dinning room, I saw out of the window a flash of color. Besides the small patch of green grass, this yellow color was Conspicuous as the only other color in the yard! Yippee! SPRING IS HERE!!!!!!!! I grabbed my camera and took a whole bunch of shots of these beautiful crocus. This first photo was taken through the dirty window of the dinning room. It was enhanced and cropped.
Most of the photos [except where indicated] were tinkered with in PSE 5.0 Lighting and saturation. Some had their light levels decreased. Some were cropped. And even some were SOOC [Straight Out Of The Camera]! 😀 Enhanced photo. Enhanced photo. Lighting levels were tinkered with on this one [I think!] 😀 This photo had light levels reduced. It was cropped so the blossoms were not directly in the center. This photo was SOOC [Straight out of the camera] and posted without any tinkering in PSE.
I am so glad Spring is here in our neck of the woods! 😀

Bet they really did make you smile, great close ups but the perspective of the long shot works to position us well.
Yes, they did, Ron. Got to rejoice: SPRING IS HERE!! 😀 Thanks again for your visit and comment.
These give me hope that spring will be here in my neck of the woods as well.
All your shots are lovely!
Thanks! Great to hear from you. I was so tickled to see those blossoms, I wanted to dance and sing – spring is here! 😀 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Oh no! you cant have spring yet!!! I’m not ready to give up this wonderful warm weather that we have. Although I must say that I am enjoying the cooler nights. Just love the yellow. Great find.
We are sooooooo tired of winter, Rinny. Sorry, but it is your turn now. 😀 You are in your fall season now, aren’t you? Thanks for dropping in and commenting.
It is going to be another warm one today. 30 degrees C. I’m not sure how to work that out for you but 0-10 is cold, 20 is nice, 30 is hot and 40+ is unbearable. So no I havent seen the trees starting to turn just yet. But must say I havent been looking for it yet. Will have a look for you today.
With your busy schedule, don’t look just for me. Do it for yourself if you need – a photo op?? Thanks!
How nice to see those again! Spring has arrived! Great find!
Hey, Terry! Yep. Spring is here. It is official. 😀 I almost missed seeing those blossoms at a distance. But that bright yellow was like a neon light. Did you get more snow? Hope so. Montana needs it for their water levels this year. Thanks for your comments and visit.
Your snow disappeared so fast…you don’t know how jealous I am to see your hints of spring (and so beautiful at that) – that burst of yellow brightened my day!
We are supposed to be in the high 40’s all weekend – maybe that will get rid of some of this snow and we will finally see the ground again – Spring is coming! 🙂
I have passed along your concern on commenting to PennyZ – hope it helps! 🙂
Our snow didn’t disappear fast, at least not according to how it is done down here in times past. It lasted at least a week, when previous minor snowfalls barely last a day. I know that seems unreal to you with your awful winter and record amounts of snow. But yes, Spring is coming your way soon! 😀
Thanks for contacting PennyZ for me. Also thanks for dropping by and commenting.
PennyZ just contacted me to let me know she changed to settings so you could comment…she said thanks for bringing that to her attention! 🙂
Think I wrote to thank you for this once already. Must have been when wordpress was having difficulties. I’ve gone to Penny’s site since then. I am now able to leave a comment on her blog. Thanks again for your efforts. 😀
this is my first time in a group and I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do.
I like the one with the light levels reduced. It makes the yellow flowers pop.
Good to see you “out and about” Robin! Thanks for dropping by and commenting. That photo happens to be my favorite too. Thanks! 😀
Yay! Seems like the yellow species crocus are the first to bloom, I’m glad you included the long shot to put us in place. How cheering.
Thanks Ellen! They were certainly bright and exciting to see after this wicked winter. I figured the long shot was needed to show the drabness of where they had brightened the corner. 😀 Thanks for your comments.
Incidentally, I have tried three times to leave a message on your Myth post. The only one that went through was one inquiring why my original hadn’t. 😦 I’ll wait a decent interval of time before trying to post it again.
HI Iona!!!
Beautiful photos!!! sn’t it grand to have Spring Sprung finally? We are in full Cherry Blossom Mode here already!
Hey Sue! Thanks for dropping by. Glad to see you are home now. It is wonderful to see the tree blossoms from other bloggers. In CA, it is the almond blossoms. We are still cold here at nights, but more moderate during the days. From what I’ve heard, the PNW was very moderate this year. Puts you ahead in the blossom department. 😀 Will mosey on over to your site to see what you have to offer now that you are home. Ta!
Great shots Iona. I love the green spikes in between and around the yellow buds. I am so jealous.. Sigh > we still have 1 foot snowbanks here. But it’s supposed to be in the high 40’s this weekend :o). I’m half tempted to print these out and hang them over my desk. Just so I can feel like Spring has sprung!
P.S. I’ll work on straightening my banner shot, and I’ll post it. Thank you for the advice :O)
Thanks Penny! I was so excited when I saw the bright yellow out in the yard. We still have cold nights, but at this very minute, it is low 60’s out. So the blossoms will be sprouting like crazy this week if it remains warm(er). You are really hard-pressed if you need to print out these photos to remind you what Spring looks like!! 😀 You are welcome about advice. I’m always in need of some and glad to pass it on. 😀
I love when the crocuses pop their little heads through the ground. Spring is on the way!! Love the yellow.
Spring is coming your way, Mary Lou! Just give it another week or so. Maybe even this week. Who knows? Weather may turn quickly. Appreciate your visit and comment.
Nice to see those little bright spots of spring, isn’t it? Lovely photos, and I love that bright yellow!
Thanks Kerri! How’s the weather over your way? You should be seeing lots of color by now. I think the good Lord knows humans are always more than fed up with winter come the end of February. I believe that is why He sends such bright beautiful flowers early on to reinforce our hope of Spring. 😀
Lovely! So bright and cheerful. I like the way you tried several different editing techniques. Think I like the one where you reduced the light levels best. Hopefully we will be seeing them soon also.
That one is my favorite too, Eleanor. thanks for your comments and dropping by.
