Okay, I’m pushing it here. I’ve not been out for photo ops, so am reduced to stretching the theme. I’ve selected the theme of Pink today.

I’m putting together one of my favorites – German Nut Cake. The last time I made the cake, I did not like the bowl I used, so figured to use this bowl. Turned out it really wasn’t large enough so I have a big mess from the beaters slinging batter all over. :^(

I have a difficult time handling the beater and folding the heavy batter, so that didn’t help either.

By the time I got to this point, DH did the folding of the walnuts and Maraschino Cherries into the stiff batter for me.

Stiff batter must be spooned into the bundt pan which has been sprinkled with a sugar/cinnamon mix.

Not only are the cherries pink, so are my hands from having to cut the cherries in half. I am sprinkling a cinnamon/sugar mix onto the bottom of the cake.

I do not know why shadows are showing up as green unless it is because of the green counter tops and dark green cupboards being reflected. I tried to get rid of it, but it refused to leave! lol

Here’s the outcome! I hadn’t made this cake for a long while (sister Esther gave me the recipe many years ago). It requires a bundt pan, which I no longer had. Then recently we purchased one. DH was delighted with the cake and loves it. Took it to a couple of potlucks recently and received rave reviews.  If you wish to have the recipe, write to me at pilgrim0391 at gmail dot com and I will send it to you.

The cake is placed upon my late DH’s grandmother’s cake plate. The plate has feet.

Only one of these photos are enhanced. The last one had a yellow color correction. I cropped one, a couple were SOOC.
